bfa membership elects Trevor Brocklebank to the new board of directors

13 January 2015

We are delighted to announce that Trevor Brocklebank, CEO and Co-founder of Home Instead Senior Care has been elected by the bfa membership to the board of directors and has also been appointed as the committee chair for quality standards at the bfa for 2015.

All franchisor and affiliate positions on the bfa’s board are through nomination and election by the membership, with those elected then appointing franchisee representatives. This system ensures the bfa is run by its members, representing all stakeholders to the sector, for the benefit of the franchise industry. It also gives all involved parties with a passion for ethical franchising the opportunity to contribute to the bfa’s governance structure and direction.

Trevor’s election to the bfa board follows in the footsteps of Cath Charlton, franchise owner for the Home Instead Senior Care Wirral office. Cath was invited to join the board in 2012 after being awarded the bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year in 2011 with her husband Mike, and was one of the first franchisee representatives to sit on the bfa board.

Commenting on the election, Trevor Brocklebank said:

“8 years ago when I launched Home Instead Senior Care in the UK with my wife Sam, we had no experience in franchising and were heavily reliant on support from bfa members.  Now we have become more established, it is a huge privilege to reciprocate this support by becoming a full board member of the bfa and work with Cath and the rest of the board to actively promote franchising across the UK.”

Cath Charlton, Home Instead Senior Care Wirral franchise owner added:

“Trevor will be very warmly welcomed by the entire bfa board and everyone is looking forward to benefiting from his knowledge and expertise of the franchise the industry.”

Home Instead has nearly 160 franchise offices throughout the UK which specialise in providing non-medical care services to older people to allow them to continue to live independently in their own homes. There are still many areas available across the UK, so there are lots of prospective clients that are still not able to receive the fantastic care Home Instead Senior Care provides. It is a fantastic opportunity for people interested in running their own successful business, while also making a difference in their local community at the same time.
