NexCen Brands, Inc. today announced the opening of the first Great American Cookies franchise unit in the UAE. The shop is located in the Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping mall, with over 1,000 stores.

The retail franchise unit will be operating under a master franchise with DRH Group, Inc. BVI. The development plan is to open 20 Great American Cookies stores in the Middle East over the next ten years. The Mirdiff City Centre, also located in Dubai, recently saw the opening of the first co-branded Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery shop in the Middle East.

Chief Executive Officer of NexCen Brands, Kenneth J. Hall said: "We are delighted to open these new franchised stores for Great American Cookies as our team continues to focus on international franchise growth and make progress on our co-branding initiative. We look forward to expanding the presence of our franchised brands throughout the Middle East."

Mr. Chris Dull, President of NexCen Franchise Management, also commented: "Through a proven and dedicated partner, we were able to open these new Great American Cookies stores in very attractive and popular locations in Dubai. We look forward to leveraging the strength of this brand to further grow and serve additional customers in the Middle East."

Great American Cookies started off in 1977 as a family business in Atlanta, but due to its high quality products, it quickly spread across the USA. Nowadays the food franchise has outlets all over the world, but the cookie dough is still produced solely in Atlanta.
