Souvlakihut, the Australian-based business opportunity that sells Greek food with a modern twist, has opened its very first drive-through store.
The new unit, which is located at Lynbrook Village Shopping Centre, was opened last week. This location was picked so that the restaurant can serve the hungry commuters from the South Gippsland Highway. A local couple will be managing 25 employees in the 220sqm store, which offers both takeaway and pick-up options, and can seat up to 50 people.
Bill Fotiadis, managing director and co-founder of the restaurant franchise, commented: "This is an exciting step in our business growth as we become a key player in a competitive QSR market. Consumers are time poor and a drive-through offers additional ease and convenience for customers on the go. It's an effective business extension for high flow traffic roads and will appeal to the spontaneous customer, who isn't necessarily looking for food but will if presented with a quick and convenient choice."
Souvlakihut is owned by Bill and his brother John. Over the next couple of months, they will be evaluating the drive-through project in Lynbrook. If it turns out to be successful, the brother will roll out the concept to other stores. The plan is to convert at least 6 other stores before the end of the year.
