Fit4less has finally arrived in Milton Keynes, presenting members with a cheap alternative to fitness.

The club officially re-launched this week on is owned by the Milton Keynes based énergie group and offers a competitive membership package at just £14.99 a month.

This low budget fitness franchise has been set up to appeal to credit-crunch-hit communities and for people looking to exercise on a budget, without the need for ‘luxuries’ such as a swimming pool; sauna and spa.

However, this cheap offer does not mean that standards have been dropped – Fit4less features state-of-the-art equipment, a separate spacious studio area, as well as a generous free weights area and clean and modern changing facilities. Personal training and fitness classes are available but these come as an extra cost for those who desire it.

Part of the day-to-day cost cutting is achieved through an online membership administration service, which allows new members to join and pay monthly through a secure website (people without internet facilities can book an appointment with staff). Additionally, no member will receive a membership card. Access to the gym is by a biometric fingerprint identification system that is the first to be introduced in a UK gym.

Tom Burke, General Manager said: “This is the ideal concept for anyone who likes to work out, get in shape, shower and leave. A majority of people that are members of a health club never use the pool or spa but continue to pay high prices. Fit4less can save people hundreds of pounds a year. It is still a professional gym and we demand high quality and high standards throughout but all the frills and ‘extras’ have been removed to keep our own costs to a minimum, which allows us to pass this on to the customer.”

The opening of the Milton Keynes Fit4less is the énergie group’s eigth Fit4less branded club and becomes part of the group’s 90 club estate.

Chief executive at the énergie group, Jan Spaticchia said: “This is a very exciting concept that we believe will do well in this current economic climate. We are looking to introduce Fit4less in multiple towns and cities in Britain through our successful franchise support scheme, which empowers people to own their own business and be their own boss.”

To help promote the brand new club, Fit4less has employed the help of 15 green men in suits who have been seen in and around Milton Keynes raising awareness of this cheap alternative to fitness.
